Success! (sort of)

Our giant mutant dog program has succeeded. Unfortunately he seems to hump RVs instead of peoples' legs. There is room for improvement.

new neighbor

A huge spider has taken up residence on Emmi's balcony. We took pictures of it. I think it's an orb weaver spider.

War of the Weevils

Recent pest inventory from my garden:

• 1 leafeater
• 1 snail
• 1 caterpillar
  
• ~30 diapropes weevils
• lots and lots of aphids

Coming soon:

• 1 million nematodes to eat the weevil eggs
• lady bugs to take care of the aphids and the leafeaters
• trichogamma wasps to take care of the weevil larvae and caterpillar

Bugs vs. Plants

It turns out carniverous plants are an excellent form of organic pest control. This venus flytrap ate a caterpillar that had previously ravaged my pitcher plants.
